The company
Molslinjen, headquartered in Aarhus, is Denmark's largest ferry operator.
Molslinjen connects Denmark with routes to and from Als, Bornholm, Ebeltoft, Esbjerg, Funen, Fanø, Køge, Langeland, Lolland-Falster, Ystad, Aarhus, Sweden, Samsø and Sassnitz.
The crossings Bøjden-Fynshav (ALSLINJEN), Rønne-Ystad, Rønne-Køge and Rønne-Sassnitz (BORNHOLMSLINJEN), Esbjerg-Fanø (FANØLINJEN), Spodsbjerg-Tårs (LANGELANDSLINJEN), Aarhus-Odden and Ebeltoft-Odden (MOLSLINJEN) and Kalundborg-Samsø (SAMSØLINJEN) make it easy to visit some of Denmark's most beautiful islands.
Once upon a time
For Molslinjen, it all began in 1966 with the route between Ebeltoft and Odden. Since then, ferry operations have focused on Aarhus, and Molslinjen A/S now carries more than three million passengers between Jutland and Zealand.
Molslinjen currently operates 5 high-speed ferries: Express 1, Express 2 and Express 3, Express 4 and Express 5 are among the largest catamarans in the world.
MOLSLINJEN also operates a bus route between Aarhus and Copenhagen, Aalborg and Copenhagen and Rønne and Copenhagen. KOMBARDO EXPRESSEN operates via MOLSLINJEN’s and BORNHOLMSLINJEN's high-speed ferries without stopping en route between the cities.
On 1 September 2018, BORNHOLMSLINJEN took over the Ystad-Rønne, Køge-Rønne and Sassnitz-Rønne routes, and SAMSØLINJEN and three more ferry routes were added shortly afterwards through the acquisition of activities from Danske Færger.
In 2023, MOLSLINJEN bought Forsea A/S, which operates between Helsingborg and Helsingør, and the route name was changed to ØRESUNDSLINJEN. The route network was thus expanded to Sweden.
